from cute little Astro Boy to this?

i love the cover with the acid bath almost as much as the bear hugging cactus. the face slap sound effect "SPLAT' is pretty cool too.

thanx, Brian. my first experience with an Eerie publication was at a grocery store around '69, i was 9 and i didn't dare ask my parents to buy it for me- besides, it scared the hecky-durn out of me! i have yet to find that particular issue again.

People love when you mix cute and horrific comics... but they sure don't when I do it on my blog.

Brian D. Horrorwitz said...

Prof., do you remember anything particular about that issue? Maybe I have it!

Kars- probably most people think of this as a "cute" site, so when i throw in something nasty it's just a pleasant(?) shock. this sort of behavior pretty much reflects my personality!

Brian- the back cover featured a man being skinned alive and his empty skin being left nailed to the wall! sound familiar?...

Hmmm... I'll have alook through mine and see if I have it!

Well, I checked the ones I had from '69 to '70 and I didn't see one matching that description. Sorry! There's just so many of the damn things!!
