geez, i didn't even make the connection to Indiana Jones, i guess that shows how uninterested i am in that movie! i'll probably see it eventually.
those covers are so awesome though, how could the insides live up to them? i know where you're coming from- i have Gold Keys that i can't even remember what's in them, as they left no great impression on me. i think the stories in this particular issue set a good example for this title, though.
Gold Key had the best covers of the business, and I'm a BIG fan of The Occult Files of Dr. Spektor. Guess I have a weakness for occult investigators ... plus the interior art was cool.

The only time I mock Crystal Skulls is when they are part of a astoundingly awful Indiana Jones film.
I have a love/hate relationship with Gold Key comics, always felt like the inside stories NEVER matched the brilliance of the painted front cover art.

They don't, not even close. Same with the Boris Karloff, Twilight Zone etc. Some issues of The Occult Files of Dr. Spektor ain't too bad though.
