Sounds To Make You Shiver - Soma Records

I confess, I am guilty of a mild deception. On Monday, October 19th, 2009 I posted the cover for the late 60s Soma label version of the most familiar to the most people(with the probable exception of Chilling, Thrilling Sounds Of The-)haunted house record, Sounds To Make You Shiver. However, the sound share I shared was actually the 70s Pickwick re-issue. I just pasted the cover I liked best(both came from the webnet)at the top of the post, never dreaming there could also be a sonic difference between the two releases. Well, though slight, there is. On Side One, at least. Since I acquired this earlier version of STMYS early in the year, I now know this. All images are my own...this time. Have Fun spotting the differences!

  1. You should check out the band Monster A Go-Go they used that sample on their song Terror in the Haunted House. That was in the late 90's but a new version is up here...

  5. You don't have to publish this post, I just didn't know your email to write you privately.

I just acquired the lightning cover version of Sounds To Make You Shiver today, completing my STMYS album collection and I would really love to get a copy of your Soma recording, especially if you have a lossless version.

I have been collecting Halloween audio since 1973 and have one of the largest Halloween collections on the planet and would be happy to reciprocate, if I possibly have something you have been searching for, Unfortunately, I have no way to digitally transfer vinyl, but I have a lot of cassettes, tons of CDs and billions of digital files!!

You can peruse my website at http://nch.rocks.it to check out the collection, though it is not as up-to-date as I'd like it to be.

Check out the Archive pages and Album Covers page.

    Thank you very much!

    Best, Stevo
